Lexx Truss is an LA based writer, director, and producer from Greensboro, North Carolina.  In 2015, he graduated from Point Park University’s Cinema & Digital Arts program in Pittsburgh and then participated in the Cannes Short Film Corner with a film he produced in The Creative Mind Group’s “We Made It In Toronto” Filmmaker Institute program at TIFF. Afterwards, he freelanced on various productions while steadily working on his craft. In 2019, he was declared the Grand Prize Winner of the Emerge! Filmmaking Lab through Little Ugly, Ghetto Film School, Vimeo and Dolby for his short psychological thriller, Zarina. In 2020, the release of Gumption, a commercial Lexx directed for Triumph Motorcycles led to him and his team receiving various awards and recognition in “Best Advertising” and “Best Commercial” categories. 

Over the last few years, 2 of Lexx’s films showcased on Fox Soul’s Screening Room hosted by Vivica A. Fox, and 3 of his scripts placed high on The Red List via Coverfly. He was also a writer/producer for Daily Content at ATTN:, producing 100+ videos within a year and a half. Lexx just completed a short music documentary following music artist Peter $un that he developed, directed and produced for Red Bull Records through Red Bull Media House and GFS under the inaugural Red Bull Filmmaker Launchpad program. Regardless of format and genre, Lexx’s work explores characters who are in conflict with who they were, who they currently are and who they are becoming and loves to discover various ways to interpret that experience through his art.

Lexx is also establishing his production company, Truss Films, in honor of his family’s history, legacy, and as a reminder for him and filmmakers he supports to stay true to themselves through their art.
